According to an article published in Terra.com and Supermercados USA, New York's bodega owners are planning to launch a line of Hispanic products called "Mi Bodega". -"Wholesalers take advantage of bodega owners, they don't give us good prices and the result is we have to sell goods at high prices"- said José Fernandez, Dominican founder of the Bodega Association of the United States.
This private label distributed by "bodegueros" (how bodega owners are called) will make them earn profits of their own store brand and give a competitive priced product to consumers.
Would you prefer to buy "Mi Bodega" instead of Goya or an imported product?
