Companies trying to tap more ethnic consumers with different palates, are creating extensions of their current products. A good example is McDonald's with the New Asian Salad. A blend of chinese green peas, mandarin, chicken and and up to 16 different types of greens. All this part of their Premium Salad Line.
Browsing through Yahoo! I found this two new ads one in Spanish, the other in English. The tag line is almost exactly the same, only one word changes. It goes like this:
A)Busca sabor, encuentra algo exótico.
B)Seek flavor, find harmony.
I wonder why the word "harmony" is not that appealing to Spanish speaking consumers in that context rather than "exótico". I have my own idea, what is yours?
