Everyday more Hispanics are using the internet as the main source of information for their needs. A big untraditional change since the times of our “abuelitas” where mainly, information came from friends, family or aquaintances. This change is important because any company out there who wants to reach potential costumers, communicate a message or build a new brand can do so by connecting thru the net.
Let me tell you a short story that I think serves as a good example of how a potential Hispanic consumer acts…….a friend of mine who lives in Latin America wanted to buy a new LCD tv, of course he was looking for a Sony or Samsung who’s brand inspires quality and trust, but when he went to the store he found that he had other price/quality options. Other brands tv’s started to look appealing to him. The problem: this “new” brands were not familiar to him. As soon as he got home, he did a reasearch online to familiarize with the them. He didn’t have any other source of info at the time, so whatever the site inspired/communicated was crucial for him to make a tv selection and purchase.
How a webiste looks. How it feels, what it transmits and how communicates is very important. DESIGN is a great part of it. Something that always should be considered.
