Currently OPI for its Spring/Summer 06 collection has launched an advertising campaign inspired by Mexico and its rich culture. Colorful big beaded necklaces, flowery embroidered skirts, textured backgrounds, a bella Latina model are just some of the elements that complement the ultimate accesory; color polished nails.
OPI ads are elegant, simple and nicely done, but what stands out the most are the creative names that each different nail enamel has such as "Tijuana Dance?", "OPI Por Favor", or "Will you Mari-achi Me?". Personally I love how well done the photography has been done and how OPI has "rescued" pieces of culture and applied it to their different POP materials.

I personally have an issue with the word MEXICO and how it visually borrows from the Mexican tourism logo, seen here: http://www.visitmexico.com/wb2/
This amazing logo was created by Eduardo Calderón, in conjunction with Mexico Tourism Board's Marketing and Government Committees and the Fundación Mexico Puente de Encuentros. A multi-million dollar effort.
Why do designers insist on borrowing other people's work and then charging a client, like it's an original idea. Can anybody say refund!
