Action: Give JIFFY For The Holidays!

JIFFY-cornmuffin.jpg

Our office management works every year with the Salvation Army to collect donations of food. This year, R.BIRD went to our local supermarket and cleared its shelves of every last box of JIFFY brand Corn Muffin Mix and pitched it into the hopper.

Call To Action: C’mon, everybody. Go right now to your local mart and buy every box of JIFFY and donate it to your favorite community effort! Really! It’s inexpensive, easy to make (it can’t be done wrong) and proven tasty.

First a jiffy logo-guessing contest. Now you’re telling us to buy as much jiffy as we can get our hands on.

Is someone ar R.BIRD a Jiffy shareholder or something?

JIFFY is a great company with a great, affordable product that’s almost universally well-liked and it always seems to fit in.

On the other hand, Matt, we’re not totally innocent ;) - Chelsea Milling Company is a client and we’ve been working on their venerable brand’s redesign for about 9 months now. (Check the 11/21 issue of BusinessWeek).

Jiffy is a utility brand. They make quality products that sell consistently in certain markets, but they don’t have strong brand awareness — the corporate branding isn’t strong, and the product branding is purposely generic.

But you know all about that. I guess your job is to convert “great products…universally well-liked” into “household name brand”.

Great challenge. Perfect client for the transformation…from almost invisible to almost famous.

I will be watching with great interest. Good luck!
